VSP News: Kolman’s Korner, Episode 114 – Battery Failures

By Team Writer / October 7, 2016

So many of our vehicles performance depends on the durability of the battery. When the battery begins to fail – it usually presents itself in the way of performance issues such as slow shifting, slow or delayed engine turn over upon start and low functioning lighting. Once your battery has been tested and returned as fail, this is not an issue car owners should ignore. Address this smaller issue before it becomes a much larger and costly one.

Key Takeaways:

  • Short lived battery issues can be fixed by looking for alternators.
  • To handle larger hotel loads, there needs to be greater output.
  • Short lived batteries are not a good choice for large hotel loads.

“Fleets that are experiencing short-lived batteries should look to their choice of alternators.”
