Recently the NYPD received its very first shipment of smart cars. The NYPD now have 100 smart cars with another 150 already ordered. Initially the NYPD did a pilot program using Smart Fortwos for parking enforcement. The Smart Fortwos are a great pick for the bureau who previously relied upon three wheeled motorbikes because they offer air conditioning and they hold police gear and radio equipment.
